LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County residents economically affected by the coronavirus crisis can now apply online for rent assistance, the county said Thursday. The online application system allows applicants to use a computer, tablet, or mobile phone to complete their application, including uploading all eligibility documentation.
Residents are eligible for assistance if their household earns up to 80 percent of the area median income, or $79,600 for a family of four. The county will make direct payments to landlords or property management companies on behalf of residents who qualify for the program.
Depending on funding availability, the program will provide rent assistance for up to six months. Residents should be current in their rent payments as of March 31.
Residents should complete the applications and include eligibility documentation, such as a current lease and paperwork that shows a job loss, reduced income or hardship due to the coronavirus. This documentation will be verified to determine eligibility. Submitting an application does not guarantee financial assistance will be provided, the county said.
Residents can view the application checklist and complete an online application by visiting the county’s website. Residents can request a paper copy of the application form and checklist by contact the county’s Information and Referral program at 703-777-0420.
